Inserting Cheap Computer Memory : Ramdom Access Memory
Inserting Cheap computer memory or R.A.M. (Random Access Memory) is an easy proposition. All memory now come pre-configured to fit the slot that they are to fit into. They can only go in one way. SO DON'T FORCE IT.
Align the memory with the memory bank or slot. (Yes they are also called Memory Banks) by looking at the number of pins. You will notice that one end has more pins than the other. Or that there are slots between. These line up with the slots on the board. So go for it and put these in.
You will note that there are either two banks or four banks. This is deliberate ,since memory were previously put in, in pairs. So you might have two slots empty or three slots empty.
If you use one bank and want to put in more memory you will need to buy another 512 MB if that is what you have, or another 256 MB or 1GB if that is what you are using. So go on start banking We move next to Installing the Mother Board. | ||
